What Happened to Us is one of those songs you write in tears on the piano. I just had my heart broken and had to let it all out somehow. It’s still one of the most personal and emotional songs I’ve ever written and maybe that’s why I’ve never released it. It’s also a lot more pop than usual, so maybe that’s why as well!
